After nearly two years at the former Cory Middle School, Gadsden officials revealed Tuesday that the Boys & Girls Club of Gadsden/Etowah County soon will have a new home.
The city entered into an agreement with B. Craig Lipscomb, Architect, LLC for work on the renovation project for the former General Forrest Middle School, which will allow the Boys & Girls Club to move in.
Sonquez “Quez” Williams, who has served as the chief professional officer for the Boys & Girls Club since December 2013, expressed optimism about the move.
“We hope to be moved into the new facility by spring break,” he said.
The Boys & Girls Club’s current lease ends Nov. 1, but it has a six-month extension on a month-to-month basis.
